The pool season is over, Thursday evenings are not. On 24 September, from 7.30 pm, Tuscan and Chinese cooking share one buffet at the villa: €29.99 per person, one welcome drink included and live music. This is the Chinese and Tuscan night at Fantastic Garden, in Sesto Fiorentino, just outside Florence.
Two kitchens, one special buffet
This is not a Tuscan dinner with a few Asian dishes added. There are two full buffets, one for each side: crostini, panzanella, pecorino cheeses and peposo, the Tuscan peppered beef stew, on one; hand made spring rolls, steamed dumplings, Gong Bao chicken and sweet and sour pork on the other.
Then comes the third part, where the two actually meet: a bao bun filled with crisp lampredotto, the Florentine street food, with salsa verde; a dumpling filled with cinta senese pork; peposo glazed with soy and star anise. Five dishes signed by chef Gaetano Micera, and the reason this evening tastes like neither of the two kitchens it comes from.
Outside Thursday, each of the two kitchens has a home of its own. The grill and the pizza are those of All You Can Steak, here in the villa grounds; and Chinese cooking in Florence is what GiaoGiao does every day.

What the price includes
€29.99 per person: the buffet dinner, one welcome drink each served at the bar (alcohol free on request) and the live music. Any other drinks are ordered separately and paid for as you go.
